Women Empowerment
On March 8, hundreds of activities are held all around the world to support women and recognize their accomplishments. The practice of males recognizing their mothers, sisters, wives, daughters’ friends, and coworkers with tokens of appreciation is fairly widespread. Working women are rewarded, recognized, and appreciated in every facet of life. Is this a problem that affects both working mothers and mothers who stay at home and strive mightily to raise their children? Well, regrettably, no.
Therefore, in order to effect change and inspire these women, Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Society came up with the concept of praising such women who have made positive changes in society and their own life in order to inspire other women to not give up and to be bold. With this in mind, we identified the women who, despite facing hardships and living in poverty, managed to provide their kids higher education’s, help them become more independent, increase their awareness of their rights and responsibilities, and inspire other women and members of the community. Mr. Nitin Bhadoariya, the District Magistrate of the Almora district, invited these women and presented each one of them with a shawl and a memento.
Being the chief guest, he focused more on the education of girls and how it may alter people's lives in his keynote speech, "Nari hai to Kal hai." Women who received awards and honors had the opportunity to talk about their personal journeys and how they overcame adversity. Each woman's individual narrative inspired everyone in attendance. Dr. Karan Karnatak, president of the SBK Social and Educational Society, made a commitment to the ladies to expand the number of women-focused programs relating to livelihood, financial education, health, hygiene, and sanitation.
